NASP (National Archery in School Program) North Gauteng split from NASP Gauteng at the end of 2018.
This will be the first year they will compete as a separate unit during the upcoming NASP SA Interprovincial Competition. This competition will take place on 25 September in eMalahleni and their organisation’s archers are excited to meet the challenge.
This past Saturday, the teams met at Hoërskool and Laerskool Raslouw in Centurion for their official training session. Since these are elite archers, the training is geared towards friendship and competitiveness, not specific techniques. During a fun day which, in true South African fashion, culminated in a braai, the archers spent time together, got to know their teammates and shot a few competitive arrows.
This was also the first time they all wore their new provincial colours – a sight to see!
