Career dress-up day for Mams learners

Each learner gave a speech to explain their career of choice for marks.

Grade 7 learners at Mahlasedi-Masana Primary School in Mamelodi East came to school on Thursday, dressed up in uniforms they dream of wearing full-time, in future.

“Career dress-up day”, had learners dressed up according to they want to be when they grow up.

Grade 7 educators Mamosetse Mkanzi and Alpheus Mokgokolo said the learners celebrated by dressing up in clothes pertaining to their career choices.

Mkanzi said the learners were dressed as doctors, police officers, traffic officers, nurses and others, as part of life orientation subject.

“This is an annual event in which each learner does a speech to explain why they chose a particular career for marks,” said Mkanzi.

Mokgokolo said the aim of the career dress-up day was to help learners to discover what they wanted in life.

He said the career dress-up day was to prepare the learners for the secondary level and also to help them chose the subjects according to what they wanted to be.

“As teachers, we are here to help the learners to achieve their dreams and the career dress-up day is the first for the learners before they go to the secondary level.”
