Tip-off leads Wierdabrug police to drugs in the ceiling

The Wierdabrug police arrested a man for dealing drugs on Wednesday.

The police received a tip-off and visited a Lucia Street property, according to Wierdabrug police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma.

“Three officers found the 37-year-old man at the house,” Huma said

“They then started searching the property and found several plastic bags containing drugs inside a flower pot next to the TV.

“When police spotted some dirty fingerprints on the ceiling, they continued to investigate.”

Inside the ceiling police found even more plastic bags containing drugs.

“The suspected dealer was arrested and a case of dealing in drugs is being investigated,” Huma said.

Wierdabrug station commander Colonel Sammuel Makama welcomed the arrest.

“A special thank you to Warrant Officer Koos van Staden, Sergeant Tanya Michau and Sergeant Michiel Roos for their efforts,” he said.

“We also thank the community for their assistance in keeping police informed of illegal activities happening in the area.”

The man was expected to appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court soon.
