North shoe box for a farmer’s wife project
The boxes must be ready and donated by 25 October to be packed to ship to the drought-stricken areas together with trucks of feed for the animals.

The Kollonnade retail park has called on the community to take part in a project to bless a farmer’s wife.
“With the drought-stricken areas in our land and where it hasn’t rained for years, our farmers and their families are feeling hopeless. Yet, they keep on praying and trust that God will send them rain,” marketing officer at the Kolonnade retail park Rina Batt said.
“The women’s league in Wellington, Paarl has launched a wonderful project, namely, Shoe Box for a Farmer’s Wife, to let them know that while supporting their husbands every day, there are other people thinking of and praying for them for the necessary strength to keep supporting their husbands and not lose faith,” Batt said about the project.
Batt asked the community and tenants at the Kolonnade to lend a hand by filling a shoe box to donate to the project.
Items such as edible treats, body wash and cream, coffee or condensed milk, toiletries, magazines and or any other special treats can be placed in the shoe box and wrapped in newspaper with a beautiful string or bow.
“You are welcome to add a short letter or card with words of motivation,” Batt said.
“The boxes must be ready and donated by 25 October to be packed to ship to the drought stricken areas together with trucks of feed for the animals.”
Thus far, Batt has received 40 shoe boxes from the community and will add the tenants of Kolonnade’s 50 to the shipment.
“We are excited and appreciate your support,” Batt said.
