NEWSFLASH: Armed robbery at Centurion sweets store

The two robbers fled with money and a cellphone.

No one was injured in an armed robbery at a sweets store in Centurion on Wednesday morning.

ABC Sweets in Lenchen Avenue was robbed by two armed men who entered the store and robbed staff at gunpoint at around 08:30, according to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Michael Nel.

Nel said the robbers fled the scene with money and a cellphone.

“We are investigating a case of armed robbery,” he said.

“Anyone with more information can call the toll-free number 08600-10111.”

Store manager Amrut Chaudhri confirmed the robbery.

“One of our staff members fell down during the incident but no one was injured,” he said.
