Total Covid-19 cases in SA rise to 43 434
The number of confirmed cases increased by 2 642 since Thursday and 60 more people have died, bringing the number of deaths to 908.

South Africa now has a total of 43 434 confirmed Covid-19 cases, the Department of Health announced on Friday, 5 June 2020.
This is an increase of 2 642 new infections from Thursday.
And 60 more deaths have been recorded, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country to 908. Of these, 481 were male and 427 female.
According to data released by the Department of Health, 23 088 recoveries have been recorded to date.
A total of 850 871 COVID-19 tests have been conducted.
The following confirmed Covid-19 cases have been detected in each province, according to data released on Saturday:
- Western Cape: 28 807 cases
- Gauteng: 5 215 cases
- KwaZulu-Natal: 2 936 cases
- Eastern Cape: 5 240 cases
- Limpopo: 215 cases
- Mpumalanga: 169 cases
- North West: 409 cases
- Northern Cape: 102 cases
- Free State: 336 cases
- Unallocated: 5 cases
The following are the 908 deaths recorded in each age group:
0-9 years, two deaths
10-19 years, three deaths
20-29 years, seven deaths
30-39 years, 50 deaths
40-49 years, 105 deaths
50-59 years, 230 deaths
60-69 years, 247 deaths
70-79 years, 169 deaths
80-89 years, 75 deaths
90-99 years, 20 deaths
