Local church reaches out to community
Mundalamo said so far they assisted 30 families. This month they are aiming to help 50 families.

A local church in Winterveldt in the north of Pretoria has recently donated food parcels to the less-fortunate during the lockdown.
The church is situated at Tlhabulogo Abet centre, next to the Kgabo clinic.
Pastor Emmanuel Mundalamo of the World Restoration Service (WRS) said their members came together to give extra help to the communities.
“We don’t have to give only because of this coronavirus. We as WRS have been assisting the community since the year we started in 2015.
“Before going out to the community, we take care of ourselves and follow lockdown regulations. We wear masks and sanitise our hands to go do the works of God. We urge people to also do the same.”
They have reached out to people in local areas in Mabopane, Winterveldt and Soshanguve.

“We get donations from the members of our ministry and the community, but we still need more donations to continue changing lives,” he said.
“We have learnt through Acts 9 verse 38 to 40 that Dorcas was the one taking care of her community by giving them clothes and food. It is our responsibility as a ministry to take care of the community.”
He added that the project was motivated by their home visits.
“We have seen how people struggle to get basic needs and this pandemic made things worse.”
Mundalamo told Rekord that Covid-19 has affected his ministry badly because they are unable to reach out to all people.

He said Hebrews 12 verse 2 is his favourite scripture, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
“The pandemic has affected our ministry very badly because things have changed. We can no longer interact with the congregation like we used to; however, we never lost touch with our congregation and community as we host live sermons on Facebook every Wednesday and Sunday,” he concluded.
