Gauteng Covid-19 cases climb to 22 341
The number of confirmed cases increased by 1 519 since Sunday.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stood at 22 341 with 5 620 recoveries and 122 deaths on Monday, according to a statement published by the Department of Health on Tuesday.
The department said out of 23 018 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19), 15 340 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period with no symptoms reported and were de-isolated.

The department said 952 people were currently hospitalised in public and private facilities.

– Johannesburg: 11 079 cases and 3 087 recoveries
– Ekurhuleni: 4 499 cases and 1 202 recoveries
– Tshwane: 3 399 cases and 736 recoveries
– Sedibeng: 736 cases and 110 recoveries
– West Rand: 1 549 cases and 485 recoveries
