Centurion couple welcomes miracle baby into the world
Elmé and her husband Ben, who have been trying to get pregnant for seven years, held their son Luke for the first time last Wednesday.

“You are our most beautiful baby boy!”
These were the words of the Afrikaans singer of Centurion, Elmé Churr, when her ‘miracle’ baby was welcomed into the world.
Elmé and her husband Ben, who have been trying to get pregnant for seven years, held their son Luke Benrich Churr for the first time last Wednesday at 10:29.
“You’re perfect. You’re my sweetheart, my child. We already love you so much,” Elmé said as she held her son against her chest.
Luke weighed 2.85kg and is 51cm long.
“Everything went well. Mum and baby are both healthy. Thank you for everyone who sent messages. We are so blessed with amazing friends and family who every now and then asked how things are going with Luke and Elmé. Thank you for your love and support,” Ben said just after Luke’s birth.
“Our baby has his dad’s feet and his mum’s lips,” the couple laughed.

In a video that Elmé shared shortly after Luke’s birth, dad Ben fell asleep on a chair next to the bed.

“Ben was exhausted. One will think he was doing all the work,” Elmé said with that contagious laugh of hers.
The Churr family went home on Friday.
At 9:13 on Saturday, Luke was still asleep with his little milk lovers clothes.

“He is adorable and the most friendliest baby. We had to wake him up to feed him.
“It’s great to be back home. I still have tears in my eyes. I am so overwhelmed with our son. I can’t believe I already have so much love for Luke,” said Elmé.
Their dogs were just as excited to welcome the family back.
“The dogs are so curious. They just keep looking to see who the new member of the family is.”
The couple have been praying for a baby for a very long time.

They were at a point where they got so discouraged because every time they bought a pregnancy test, it was negative. It felt as if a baby had not been meant for them.
“Luke is our greatest gift,” said Elmé.
Luke’s cot has been in the corner of their Midstream estate home since March. The baby clothes have been waiting in the closet for a while – from a swimsuit to a few pairs of crocs.
“In the hospital room Ben asked, ‘Elmé are you ready for the next one?’ We’re already looking forward to the next one,” Elmé said.
