North missing man found dead

He said preliminary investigations suggested that he may have suffered injuries to the head from being knocked down by a vehicle.

The Hammanskraal man, who went missing for over three weeks ago, was found dead at a government mortuary on Tuesday.

Shoki Mlangeni of Temba unit 7, who was last seen on June 30 by a friend, was recently found dead, Temba SAPS corporate communications Sergeant Herman Moremi said.

He said the search for the missing man was called off after Shoki was found at the Ga-Rankuwa government mortuary.

“Shoki was identified and confirmed with the assistance of his family,” he said.

He said preliminary investigations suggested that he may have suffered injuries to the head from being knocked down by a vehicle.

Moremi said investigations would continue to establish whether or not the deceased could be linked to a culpable homicide case in Ga-Rankuwa, where the police were yet to determine the identity of a deceased accident victim.

Mlangeni’s family could not comment at the time of going to print.
