Daily new Pretoria Covid-19 cases lower than last week
Last week Tshwane recorded an average of about 1 000 new cases; however, this week the numbers are down.
Pretoria recorded 642 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, according to the Department of Health.
This was lower than the average of 1 000 daily new cases recorded over the past two weeks in the region.
Pretoria has the third-highest Covid-19 related deaths in the province, with a tally of 335.
Local Covid-19 cases stood at 32 036 with 15 959 recoveries thus far.

The breakdown was as follows:
City of Tshwane 32 036 cases breakdown:
– City of Tshwane 1: Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, Winterveldt, Soshanguve, Rosslyn, Karen Park, Wonderboom, Akasia, Nina Park, Orchards, Amandasig, Theresa Park, Pretoria North (7 056 cases and 3 698 recoveries);
– City of Tshwane 2: Hammanskraal, Temba, Suurman, Dilopye, Stinkwater, Ramotse, New Eersterust, Kameeldrift, Pyramid/Rooiwal, Doornpoort, Kekana Gardens, Marokolong, Randstown, Kanana (2 268 cases and 743 recoveries);
– City of Tshwane 3: Atteridgeville, Laudium, Pretoria CBD, Hercules, Danville, Saulsville, Lotus Gardens, Pretoria West (9 935 cases and 6 034 recoveries);
– City of Tshwane 4: Lyttelton, Eldoraigne, Waterkloof, Olievenhoutbosch, Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, Brooklyn, Hatfield (5 286 cases and 2 470 recoveries)

– City of Tshwane 5: East Lynne, Rayton, Cullinan, Dewagensdrift, Refilwe, Silverton, Onverwacht (639 cases and 170 recoveries);
– City of Tshwane 6: Eersterust, Lethabong, Mamelodi, Silver Lakes, Garsfontein, Lynnwood, Queenswood, Wilgers, Waltloo, Equestria, Mooikloof, Brummeria (6 072 cases and 2 587 recoveries); and- City of Tshwane 7: Ekangala, Sokhulumi, Dark City, Zithobeni, Bronkhorstspruit, Kanana, Rethabiseng (670 cases and 257 recoveries).
On the repeated areas in the stats, the department has not yet clarified on why these suburbs were mentioned more than once.
