Person seriously injured in north truck accident

Truck driver seriously injured after two trucks collided on the N1

A truck driver sustained serious head and chest injuries as well as a leg fracture after two trucks collided in Wallmannsthal, in the north of Pretoria, on Friday evening.


The accident happened on the N1 North after the Wallmannsthal off-ramp at around 21:00.

“The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries. He was assessed and treated on the scene before being transported to Jubilee hospital,” said Medi-Edge emergency medical service.

Medi-Edge reported that recovery operations were still underway by Saturday morning on the N1 North, but that the road remained open for normal traffic.

The police are set to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
