One dead in Gezina shootout; 9 arrested
Two police officers were airlifted after they were shot and wounded.
One suspect was killed and two police officers wounded following a shootout with police outside the Tshwane District hospital in Gezina on Wednesday morning.
Nine suspects have been arrested.

Several of the arrested suspects, as well as police officers, suffered gunshot injuries.
The shootout took place on Dr Savage Street in front of the Pathological Services gates.
A source close to the investigation told Rekord that the reason behind the shooting was unclear.
“We are waiting for feedback from relevant stakeholders.”

Ambu-Link emergency services spokesperson Xander Loubser said two officers were shot and wounded during the shootout between suspects and the police.
Loubser said two police officers were airlifted to Milpark Hospital.
Police could, however, not confirm if any of their officers were shot during the incident.
