Bakkie hijacked in Sinoville found in Soshanguve

“An intelligence-driven operation led the police to a house in Soshanguve Block L.”

Soshanguve police have launched a manhunt for a group of men believed to have been involved in the hijacking of a Nissan NP200 bakkie in Sinoville on Thursday.

The victim was allegedly hijacked by men driving a grey Nissan Qashqai SUV, according to police.

“The men drove off with the victim who was later released in the Sinoville area,” said police spokesperson constable Portia Sebone.

An intelligence-driven operation led the police to a house in Soshanguve Block L where they believed the culprits to be.

At the house, they found both the suspects’ vehicle as well as the hijacked vehicle.

The suspects, however, managed to flee the scene before the police arrived.

“During further investigation, an unlicensed firearm of which the serial number was filed off was found.

Sebone said police were investigating a case of hijacking although more charges might be added.
