#GiveAjersey continues to clothe Hammanskraal community centres
"We wish to go nationwide and I know we can with support from sponsors."

#GiveAjersey donated jerseys to Ramaditsi Community Hope Centre in Hammanskraal recently.
This is one of many centres which have received aid from this initiative led by the local youth.
The organisation has been donating jerseys to different homes every Friday for the past three months.
“We have reached many people because we made our first delivery on 5 June and we are yet to miss a Friday since then.”
He added that even though they make deliveries on Friday, if they find a family that needs help with clothes, they do not wait till Friday.
“We just give them as long as we have them. Fridays we give in large quantities,” said Goitseone Raseroka.
The young man said he was inspired by a Facebook picture outside a store which read, “Need a coat? Take one. Want to help? Leave one”.

“After seeing this, I was inspired to give jerseys to people who might need them the most. Luckily, I already had about 10 old jerseys at home so I called on my friends and started this movement.”
On 16 June, the group hosted an event called #GiveAMeal where they cooked meals and fed over a 100 people.
On Mandela Day, they renovated and painted Bothlokwa Bya Ngwana Safe Centre.
He said they used social media platforms to identify homes who might need help.
“We use Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram and share posts using #GiveAJersey. We post on Facebook and ask for homes/orphanages and families who might need such donations of clothes. That is how we chose Ramaditsi Community Hope Centre Last Friday.”
Raseroka said they are planning to go beyond Hammanskraal, Pretoria and Gauteng.
“We wish to go nationwide and I know we can with support from sponsors.”
He added that they have no age categories, but gave to people who needed it most.
Raseroka said it felt great to make a difference, and although it might seem small to give clothes, in reality they are giving somebody hopes for life.
BohlokwaBya Ngwana Safe Centre manager Nkele Maubane said it was impressive to see the youth doing good for the community and that the group could go far if they continued this way.
Maunabe said #GiveAJersey renovated their structure, donated clothes and helped them start a garden.

“You can clearly see the difference of what they have done to the place. On Mandela Day they repainted our structure, the second time they donated clothes and did our garden.”
