East suspect caught with housebreaking equipment

The suspects opened fire on the Bull Security officers.

A man has been arrested for being in possession of housebreaking equipment in the east of Pretoria.

“This morning at 01:30, our control room received a panic activation from the guards at one of our estates in Moreletapark,” said Bull Security spokesperson French Jooste.

Upon arrival the guards informed our officers that three suspects were seen walking in the veld behind the estate, Jooste said

“Our officers entered the veld on foot and as soon as they entered, the suspects opened fire.”

He said that the officers called for backup and the Bull Security tactical intervention unit was dispatched to the scene.

“A chase on foot through the veld ensued and our officers managed to arrest one of the suspects with housebreaking equipment in his possession,” Jooste said.

He said that the five other suspects got away.

Garsfontein police spokesperson Warrant Officer Duane Lightfoot confirmed the arrest.

“For now we can only confirm the one suspect that was arrested for being in possession of housebreaking equipment.”

The suspect was handed over to police came by Bull Security.
