Covid-19 cases in SA rise to 681 289

According to data released by the Department of Health, 614 781 recoveries have been recorded to date, which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.

South Africa now has 681 289 confirmed Covid-19 cases, the Department of Health announced on Sunday.

There were 38 more deaths recorded, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country to 16 976.

According to data released by the Department of Health, 614 781 recoveries have been recorded to date, which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.

In total, 4 269 626 Covid-19 tests have been conducted.

The following confirmed Covid-19 cases have been detected in each province, according to the data released on Sunday:

– Western Cape: 111 448 cases

– Gauteng: 220 910 cases

– KwaZulu-Natal: 119 608 cases

– Eastern Cape: 89 853 cases

– Limpopo: 15 803 cases

– Mpumalanga: 27 591 cases

– North West: 29 927 cases

– Northern Cape: 17 746 cases

– Free State: 48 403 cases
