Brooklyn police search for Lynnwood Glen robbers

Police have appealed to members of the public to assist in locating the two men who are believed to be involved in three robberies that took place in Lynnwood Glen.

Brooklyn police have asked for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who were involved in three robbery cases of a year ago. In the first robbery in October last year, a 26-year-old student was with a friend at a music studio in Lynnwood Glen busy with recordings. When they finished recording at around 03:00 and about to leave the building, two unknown men entered. “One was armed with a firearm and the other with a knife,” said police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach. Weilbach said they forced the students to unlock the studio where they ransacked the place. The students were tied up before the pair fled with electrical appliances. In a second incident in November last year, a 22-year-old student was with six friends at his apartment at around 03:00 also in Lynnwood Glen. “Three unknown men entered the house and threatened the man and his friends with a firearm, a knife and a screwdriver. The suspects ransacked the house and searched their victims for cellphones,” Weilbach said. All the victims described the suspects in the same manner. They described one of the men who was armed with a firearm (silver in color), as being about 1.9 meters tall and the other one, armed with a knife, was described as being about 1.4 meters tall. “Both suspects spoke Tswana. In all three incidents, they were wearing gloves,” Weilbach said. “An appeal is made to members of the public to assist the SAPS to locate the two suspects in the attached CCTV footage.” Investigating officer Sergeant Christo Jooste said he was confident there would be a breakthrough in the investigation with the help of members of the public who could possibly identify the suspects.
