Two arrested for trying to sell rented vehicle
One of the men allegedly changed the ownership papers fraudulently to make it look like he was the owner of the VW Kombi.

Two men were arrested for trying to sell a rented vehicle to a Silver Oaks car dealership in the east of Pretoria recently.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Yeroboam Mbatsane said the incident took place a week ago after the pair rented out the VW Kombi from a company in Johannesburg for a month.
“One of them allegedly changed the ownership papers fraudulently to make it look like he was the owner,” Mbatsane said.

“They asked R350 000 for the car, but the salesperson became suspicious and decided to dig deeper.”
Mbatsane said the salesperson told the suspects to “collect” their money the following day, and then contacted the police who arrested them on the day.
“It was found the car belonged to a company at Woodford, Johannesburg. After a search, two firearms and ammunition were found in their vehicle.”
The two were charged with fraud and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
They were expected to appear in court for a formal bail application on Monday.
