Moot couple slowly but surely process their son’s death

Despite the trauma the Lennox family experienced, it seems that they are processing the news about their unborn baby, which they lost at 30 weeks.
On day 210, father Thomas Lennox received the heartbreaking news that his wife, Marzanne (30), had lost their son, Jensen.
Thomas (30) received a call from the pediatrician on the morning of 2 July.
“I’m incredibly sorry to tell you this, but there are no signs of a heartbeat.
“For whom? The baby?” Thomas asked the doctor.
Marzanne went for a c-section on 16 July to remove the baby.
The hardship all began on 16 June when Marzanne showed flu symptoms.

“I did not show any symptoms of the coronavirus,” she said.
A week later, her fingertips and lips began to turn blue and her energy levels were already very low.
Her mother, Ina Scheepers, took her to a general practitioner in the Moot.
“The family doctor advised us to rush her to the hospital immediately,” Scheepers said.
Her saturation levels were 24% at that point, where a normal person’s saturation levels should be above 90%.
At the end of the day, she tested positive for Covid-19. By that time the pandemic had already wreaked havoc in her body.
“I had been on a ventilator. I had to learn to walk again with physiotherapy in the hospital.”
She was admitted on 30 June and was in the intensive care unit for 25 days in an induced coma after which she was transferred to a general ward.
“It felt like a tennis match: either Marzanne’s life or the baby’s life, or maybe both,” said Thomas.

“Marzanne was on her own. I was not allowed to be with her during the operation.
“The doctors regularly kept me informed of her progress during the day. In the evening they told me the operation went well and that Marzanne’s saturation levels were virtually normal,” said Thomas.
She was discharged on Saturday, 1 August.

Jensen was buried on 11 August in Olievenhoutbosch cemetery.
His cot is still in the room. The walls of his room would have been painted blue-gray. Most of his clothes, toys and blankets are still in the closets.
“We are not ready to say goodbye to our boy yet,” said the couple.
“Every now and then the thought pops up: ‘Why? What is the reason? Why did it happened?’
“At this point we are not thinking about trying for another baby anytime soon,” they said.
“We do want our own baby, but for now we just do not want to go through this trauma again.”
The two met in the Moot where they were both waiters at a local restaurant in the area.
At that time, they were both 19 years old.
They were together for four years before Thomas asked the big question.
The two were sitting on the couch watching the movie, P.S I Love You.
“There’s a specific part of the movie where I stopped the movie. I put together a slide show of our photos ahead of time and just asked her on the couch,” Thomas said with a smile.
