Roseville resident arrested for possession of explosives, ammo

The officers then searched his house where they found a large consignment of a variety of explosives and bullets for automatic rifles.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was arrested by Wonderboompoort police station officers in Magdaleen Avenue in Roseville, Pretoria, after a consignment of a variety of explosives and ammunition was found in his home.

The man appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court a day after his arrest where he was denied bail.

Until his appearance on Monday, 23 November, he will remain in custody at Kgosi Mampuru II correctional centre in the Pretoria CBD.

“Wonderboompoort officers attended to the scene after they received a call from a community member informing them of an altercation,” said police spokesperson Constable Mandla Zwane.

“The man was taken into police custody where he was charged with contravention of the explosives act and unlawful possession of explosions and ammunition.”
