Six injured in Bosman taxi rank shooting
Firefighters and paramedics on duty heard gunshots around 06:30. Shortly thereafter people who had been shot and injured arrived at the gate of the fire station.
Six people were shot and injured in an alleged taxi violence incident which erupted early on Friday at the taxi rank in Bosman Street.
Central police spokesperson, Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, confirmed the incident.
Peters said they were still on the scene at the taxi rank following the shooting.

“Information is still sketchy at this point, but police can confirm that two unknown suspects arrived at the taxi rank, on foot, and fired shots indiscriminately. No fatalities have been reported at this stage.”
According to Peters police have launched a search for the suspects.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call the crime stop number 08600-10111 or contact police at Pretoria Central SAPS.”
Peters said according to police information five people, which included two taxi operators and three commuters, have been injured while the Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson, Charles Mabasa confirmed a total of six people were shot and injured.

Mabasa said fire fighters and paramedics on duty heard gunshots around 06:30. The taxi rank in Bosman Street, where the shooting took place, is close to the Tshwane Emergency Services Department.
“Shortly thereafter a male with multiple gunshots arrived at the gate of the fire station, followed by another male and female, who had also been shot.
“Paramedics treated them at the fire station and we dispatched a vehicle to investigate.”
Mabasa said when they arrived at the taxi rank in Bosman Street they found three more patients who had been shot, two men and a women, and treated them on the scene.
All those injured were transported to Steve Biko hospital for further treatment.
