• Creating a unique brand
Our unique concept is aimed at being a role player filling a gap in the industry.
The brand tells a story of quality genetics, feed free of hormones, with responsible use of antibiotics and good production practices.
The Humphries Family realised that a new mindset and way ahead was called for. This so that pig farmers have more end-user control over their product and reputations.
From here the plan was born of expanding the farming business into a new venture – the fast food business. Our slogan ‘Only Pork, from Farm to Fork’ says that we know what we stand for and would like to extend this to our valued clients.
This means that we do not merely pay lip service, but promise a very real commitment to providing ‘full circle’ healthy, additive-free pork, which is easily traced back to the farm it comes from.
Thus ensuring quality products at affordable prices and at the same time maintaining the highest food safety standards. The name Humphries Pork comes with a solid background of ethical pig farmers.
As fourth generation pork producers, Humphries has been successfully farming near Bela Bela in Limpopo since the 1970s.
The family are also the only South African shareholders in the Dutch feed producing company De Heus which produces good quality additive- and hormone-free animal feed that ensures that we know exactly what our pigs are fed and what we offer our clients to put on their tables. The importance of this speaks for itself!
• Our current, first three stores are the foundation to a unique new business, set to become a national food outlet and household name. With our pork-only chain of outlets, our goal is to give this country pork of the best quality at affordable prices.
