NOTICE: East to be without water

Rand Water will do upgrades to supply lines which could possibly see some parts of the East without any water.

The Tshwane metro has sent out a notice for possible water supply interruptions that will affect some suburbs in the eastern parts of the city.

From Tuesday, June 29 until Wednesday, June 30, Rand Water will shut down the water provision to Boardwalk and nearby areas to do an essential upgrade of supply lines in the area.

“The interruption is planned for 12 hours from 17:00 until 05:00,” said Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.

“During this period, the water utility will conduct a tie-in connection of the existing R1/H26 pipelines and the existing meters at the Rietvlei dam nature reserve.”

Mashigo said all reservoirs would be filled to capacity to ensure the provision of water to residents in the affected areas.

However, residents are advised to use water sparingly to avoid the levels of the reservoirs from dropping rapidly.

“The city of Tshwane sincerely apologises for the inconvenience as a result of the above-mentioned planned maintenance,” Mashigo said.

The following areas will be affected by this interruption:

– Boardwalk Meander

– Boardwalk Meadows

– Boardwalk (all extensions)

– Bromberg (all extensions)

– Olympus (all extensions)

– Mooikloof Ridge

– State Security Agency.
