Laudium dealership robbed of four luxury cars
It is alleged that the victim was in the office when an unknown man walked in the yard and enquired about the price of one of the vehicles.
Laudium police are investigating a case of business robbery after four suspects snatched a bag filled with motor vehicle keys and drove off with multiple vehicles from a dealership on Saturday.
The incident occurred on the R55 road and 3rd Avenue in Laudium.
Some of the vehicles were luxury models.
Laudium police spokesperson Sergeant Simon Chokoe said it was alleged that the dealership representative was in the office,
when an unknown man walked in the yard and enquired about one of the vehicles.
Chokoe said according to reports, it was further alleged that while the victim was assisting the man, armed men stormed into the dealership.
“Four armed men suddenly entered the premises and pointed other two victims (salesmen) with firearms.
“They pushed all of them into the office, instructed them not to move and all were tied up with cable ties.”
He said the suspects then took a bag of motor vehicle keys and went to the vehicles.
“The suspects proceeded to choose the vehicles they were looking for.”
He said the suspects unlocked the vehicles and then drove off with four vehicles: a navy BMW 325i, a silver Audi A3, a silver VW Polo Classic and a blue Mercedes-Benz E200.
He said no shots were fired and no arrests have yet been made.
“Police are pleading to anyone with information which might lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact SAPS.”
