Tshwane Covid-19 cases continue to drop
"It is important that we remain cautious and adhere to Covid-19 safety protocols, such as wearing masks, social distancing and sanitising regularly."

The Tshwane region is continuing to make progress in the fight against Covid-19 as cases drop below 6 000.
The metro has recorded another weekly decrease of 2 337 Covid-19 active cases.
Mayor Randall Williams said the recent Covid-19 report showed that active cases have dropped to 5 304.
“This represents another significant week-on-week decrease in active cases for Tshwane,” he said.
“In the previous week, the number of active Covid-19 cases stood at 7 641. New confirmed daily cases are also steadily decreasing.”
Williams said it was encouraging to see the weekly trend of declining Covid-19 active cases, however, he urged people not to let their guard down.
He said it was important that people remained cautious and adhered to Covid-19 safety protocols, such as wearing masks, social distancing and sanitising regularly.
“I also want to encourage all qualifying residents to register to vaccinate. As of July 28, 434 225 vaccinations had been administered at public and private vaccination sites in Tshwane,” he said.
“We need to push this number even higher to achieve herd immunity. Tshwane has 38 public vaccination sites spread across all seven regions which are available free of charge to our residents.”
Daily cases in Tshwane are as follows:
– Thursday, August 5: 754 new cases
– Friday, August 6: 750 new cases
– Saturday, August 7: 603 new cases
– Sunday, August 8: 651 new cases
– Monday, August 9: 340 new cases
– Tuesday, August 10: 443
