Local organisation encouraged to continue serving the community
Hollywoodbets My Community Programme has pledged a R3-million investment towards the rebuilding of our communities.
A local feeding scheme organisation was encouraged to continue providing for the needy.
Thandanani Drop Inn Centre believes the kitchen equipment, donated by Hollywoodbets last week Thursday, will make their job much easier.
Thabo Kgotsi said during the last visit to the centre to donate food and groceries for Thandanani’s daily feeding scheme programme, Hollywood Bet saw the kitchen needed more equipment to be more effective with the feeding scheme.
“The capacity of our daily beneficiaries depending on the feeding scheme have increased after the president announced the national lockdown,” said Kgotsi.
With Covid-19 came new challenges, with new challenges came a wave of unheard of desperation.
“Job losses are at their peak, poverty became the order of the day and there’s only so much we can do on our own for everyone,” said Kgotsi.
“With this donation of kitchen equipment, our feeding scheme is empowered to continue providing for our community, may our mighty Lord bless them abundantly for being the gift that keeps on giving,” said Kgotsi.
Area manager of Hollywoodbets, Tony Phahlamohlaka said the company has committed R3-million in assistance to communities and areas affected by the recent unrest.
Thandanani centre is based in Mamelodi East, section SNS and was started in 2011 and have more than 30 volunteers.
