Pretoria residents will have a great chance to spot the International Space Station tonight

The sighting should last about seven minutes from 18:48 to 18:55 tonight.

The International Space Station will orbit above Pretoria and other parts of South Africa on Wednesday evening.

This means that Pretorians will have a great opportunity to have a glimpse of the station in the right spot for a perfect view, says Nasa.

The sighting should last about seven minutes from 18:48 to 18:55 tonight.

Other places that will have a chance to view it are Johannesburg, Gaborone and Limpopo province.

The International Space Station passes overhead from several thousand worldwide locations. It is the third brightest object in the sky and easy to spot if you know when to look up.

Visible to the naked eye, it looks like a fast-moving plane, only much higher and travelling thousands of kilometres an hour faster.

Those in luck to witness and capture the moment tonight, please share your pictures and videos with us.
