A Re Yeng bus expands to Menlyn
The mayor said he was pleased with the fact that A Re Yeng had acquired a range of new features designed to assist passengers with disabilities.
A Re Yeng buses will now be transporting the public from the inner city straight to Menlyn.
Tshwane mayor Randall Williams was present during the launch of the Line 2B A Re Yeng route to Menlyn on Thursday morning.
“The launch is an incredibly significant development for Tshwane residents as the expansion of the A Re Yeng Bus Rapid Transit system will assist to advance mobility and ensure that we connect our residents with economic opportunities.
“Line 2B is particularly significant as it directly connects Menlyn with the inner city. Menlyn is an important economic zone in Tshwane as it is a hub of retail and commercial businesses.”
Williams said he was pleased with the fact that A Re Yeng had acquired a range of new features designed to assist passengers with disabilities.
“This is critically important towards enabling accessibility to our public transport network,” he said.
Williams said the Line 2B launch was also supported by local taxi associations.
“They are a critical stakeholder in the city as we work together towards improving public transport. We will continuously strive towards advancing and expanding public transportation facilities in the municipality so that our city is interconnected and accessible to all who live in it,” he said.
