Covid-19: Tshwane active cases continue dropping, remaining under 2 000

The current active coronavirus cases stood at 1 309 from 1 963 the previous week. The Tshwane region’s coronavirus active infections have remained steady below 2 000 infections.

The region’s week-on-week active cases experienced a decrease of 654 infections.
As of Sunday, the region’s active infections stood at 1 309 from 1 963 the previous week.
The previous week the region had a drop of 638 infections.

Tshwane mayor Randall Williams said the past week’s new daily infections average remained below 300 cases.
“The weekly decrease in active Covid-19 cases is indeed good news for our city and its people,” he said.
Williams urged residents to remain vigilant and to adhere to all known Covid-19 safety protocols.

“It is also worth noting that the presidency has now moved the country to adjusted alert level 2.

While this is a welcome relaxation of regulations, we must also play our part by vaccinating,” Williams said.
The metro currently has 50 vaccination sites across the region.
“The metro stands ready to assist all qualifying residents.

No person will be turned away at any of our public vaccination sites,” Williams said.

Gauteng Health Tshwane Covid-19 stats for the past week were as follows:

– September 09, Thursday: 207 new cases
– September 10, Friday: 201 new cases
– September 11, Saturday: 173 new cases
– September 12, Sunday: 146 new cases
– September 13, Monday: 38 new cases
