Security officer gunned down in the west
The victim had a firearm holster with no firearm was found on him.
A security officer was gunned down in Danville, west of Pretoria, at the weekend.
“Pretoria West police on duty received a complaint of shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, they found a security officer lying beside a white Nissan NP200,” said police spokesperson Constable Sibongile Vuma.
She said the officer was shot seven times, five in the chest, once in the stomach and left shoulder.
“Upon further investigation, cartridges were found. The victim had a firearm holster with no firearm.”

The motive of the shooting was not known and no suspects have been arrested.
A case of murder was opened for investigation.
Pretoria West police appealed to those who may have witnessed the shooting to call the station on 012 327 4907.
