The residents and colleagues came together to celebrate the life of the well-known policeman Warrant Officer Stoffel Holtzhausen who died in an accident on Friday evening.

They held a memorial service at Noordlikes sports grounds in Pretoria North where white candles were lit and police and emergency vehicles blared their sirens in remembrance of the man dubbed the “Supercop”.

Vice-chairperson of CPF sector 1 in Pretoria North, Jan White, said Holtzhausen was one hell of a police officer and always assisted in the community anytime of the day even in after hours with no worries.

“His main goal in Pretoria North was to clean the drugs, fight against crime, theft and gender-based violence and in many ways safeguarding his community,” said White. “He was a police robocop.”
Chris de Jager of CPF sector 2 said the people who gathered for the memorial were all Holtzhausen’s friends.
“The candlelight is a tribute to our best friend and the people sitting in the pavilion are not only his colleagues but his friends,” said De Jager.
“A moment of silence was held with candle lights and cellphones switched on in remembrance of our super cop,” said De Jager.

They encouraged the community and his colleagues not give up but to carry on fighting crime and join hands. “We are all shocked by his sudden death,” Ramahlaha said.
“Stoffel would be happy to see the community being merciless to those who give our children drugs, commit break-ins and theft. “The community should continue working with the police the same way they were working with Stoffel,” said Ramahlaha.
The memorial service ended with a salute and sirens. The date for his funeral has not been announced.
