Woman killed in attempted hijacking in Centurion

“There was an attempted hijacking, but the victim tried to drive away. She was shot and drove into the fence of her residence. The suspects fled the scene.”

A woman from Wierda Park, Centurion, was shot and killed during an attempted hijacking at her residence on Monday afternoon.

Spokesperson for Monitor Net, JP Le Roux said they responded to a call on Monday at around 17:30 at the corner of Koedoe and Friederich streets.

“The residence is right across the Voortrekker centre, where young Voortrekker children had been camping. As they witnessed the incident, they had been severely traumatised, and received counselling.”

Le Roux said various security companies as well as police were on the scene.

The police had not yet commented at the time of going to press.
