Learners of Laerskool Louis Leipoldt in Centurion excelled in sports and arts and culture this month.

According to Annemare van Rensburg, head of department of extra-curricular and marketing, Fourie received North Gauteng as well as South African colours.

“Keegan got gold in the u.13 Free Style and Greek Roman items, and ended fourth in the Presidente Schools Free Style competition.”

Mia Jansen van Vuuren participated in the recently held Kraal Kunstefees “and received certificates for the singing item: grade 6 English Pop Ballad Solo A++ (93%), English Pop Upbeat Solo: A++ (92%), Goue Oue Solo: A++ (92%), Film Solo: A+ (87%)”.

Jansen van Vuuren also received the following awards: sharing a general third place in the Junior Kraal Kunstefees (gr. 0 to gr. 7), Junior Kraal Meester for a 90% average or higher, and also in the Top 7 of the Junior Kraal Kunstefees.

Sophia Badenhorst participated in the annual national Gym Games as presented by Gymnastics South Africa.

Van Rensburg said approximately 30 girls participated in the item, artistic gymnastics in the Level 7 (6 – 12 years) category.

“Sophia achieved the fourth general place in the item, as well as a silver medal in her floor series. She is only 10-years-old while most competitors were 13-years-old.”

Two sisters, Amoné Roux in gr. 6 and Renske Roux in gr. 3, participated in the annual national South African Hip Hop finals recently.

“Both received South African colours for Hip Hop and will participate in the Hip Hop IFAA International competition in Namibia next year.”
