Six men arrested for business burglary and possession of drugs
"Two men were arrested for business burglary at Ramabele secondary school in Eersterust last month."
Temba police arrested six men around Stinkwater for burglary and possession of drugs last week Friday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Herman Moremi said two men were arrested for business burglary at Ramabele secondary school in Eersterust last month.
“It is alleged that they stole groceries and sold some of it around the area. Police followed up on information and they were caught and detained.”
Moremi said three men were arrested in Stinkwater, while another man was arrested in Jubilee mall for possession of drugs.
“The men, aged between 26 and 27, were arrested on Friday morning during the station’s operation around Temba and Stinkwater.”
Temba police station commander Brigadier Johannes Tau urged the community to stop buying stolen goods from criminals because it promoted theft and burglaries.
“Always ask questions before buying anything from an unknown person to establish if what you are buying has been stolen or not and always alert the police if you are suspicious.
“Police will also continue to prioritise cases of drugs in our area and it will be our daily duties to search for them.”
The arrested suspects will appear in the Moretele magistrate’s court soon.
