Vehicle burst through Rooihuiskraal resident’s wall
“What concerns me, was that the vehicle missed the sliding door of the residence with centimetres. My father is a pensioner, he shouldn’t be exposed to this kind of risk.”
A resident from Rooihuiskraal north was not shocked at all when he heard a loud noise on Sunday evening and found that a motorist burst through his complex fence.
Jorrie Jordaan (69) said he has been laying in bed watching TV when he heard a loud noise at around 23:30.

“My daughter from Pilanesberg was also visiting, and I heard her scream. I didn’t think much of it as motor vehicles regularly collide with the curb.
“I have been living here at Gobabis complex for the past seven years. Probably about 10 accidents have already occurred on the turn in Capensis Avenue, where my residence is located.”
Jordaan said when he and his daughter went outside, they found a Hyundai i20 halfway in his garden.

“I believe that vehicle was written off as it took two tow trucks to remove it. And I believe the driver hit the wall at high speed. There were brake marks on the road and the road was wet. The entire wall fell over.”
Jordaan’s other daughter, Adele Jordaan van Staden (36), resides in Wierda Park. Her father called her after the incident occurred.
“The driver of the vehicle sustained an injury to his head, but managed to call his brothers from a nearby complex to come and assist. First responders, an ambulance, and police were on the scene.
“What concerns me, was that the vehicle missed the sliding door of the residence with centimetres. My father is a pensioner, he shouldn’t be exposed to this kind of risk.”
Jordaan van Staden said she finds it upsetting that speeding and racing in that street is quite common.
Sergeant Divine Nkuna, spokesperson for Wierdabrug police, confirmed the incident and said an accident report will be issued for insurance purposes.
