Three suspects arrested for heroin and crystal meth

The men were taken into custody at the corners of Steve Biko Road and Van Heerden Street at around 06:58 on Friday.

Three men, aged between 21 and 35, were arrested by Wonderboompoort police for the use and possession of drugs on Friday.

The men were taken into custody at the corners of Steve Biko Road and Van Heerden Street at around 06:58.

According to Constable Mandlakayise Zwane of Wonderboompoort police, upon arrival, the police found a 21-year-old suspect with a needle filled with a solution he was about to inject himself with.

“He was warned by the police to desist from injecting himself. Upon inspecting the solution and testing it, it was discovered to be heroin,” said Zwane.

Zwane added that on the same crime scene, two men were searched and found to be in possession of crystal meth.

“Upon detaining the suspects at the Wonderboompoort police station, the three suspects’ fingerprints were taken. The 35-year-old suspect was linked with three other theft cases at Sunnyside, Rietgat and Pretoria Central.”

All three suspects will appear in the Pretoria central magistrate’s court soon.

Wonderboompoort police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Dinah Tabane commended the officers who made the arrests.

“We want to urge our officers to continue to ensure that our policing precinct is a crime-free zone and that law and order is maintained at all times.

“Community members are urged to call the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111,” he said.
