“New confirmed daily cases are also steadily decreasing, ranging from between 200 and 600 cases per day.”
Tshwane recorded another weekly decrease in the number of active Covid-19 cases in Pretoria and Centurion.
According to Sipho Stuurman, Tshwane spokesperson for the mayoral office, the city’s most recent Covid-19 report indicated that active cases have dropped slightly to 3 630 as of this Monday, while the numbers stood at 3 860 a week ago.
“New confirmed daily cases are also steadily decreasing, ranging from between 200 and 600 cases per day.
Here are the weekly numbers:
– Thursday: 544 new cases were reported
– Friday: 605
– Saturday 537
– Sunday 404
– Monday 284.
Stuurman said while the city was making some progress in decreasing active Covid-19 cases, it was important that the city remained vigilant to play its part to stop the spread of the virus.
“The city remains committed to the implementation of our Covid-19 management strategy across all regions of Tshwane. This includes setting up pop-up vaccination sites and conducting community education drives.”
Stuurman said that the city had 67 public vaccination sites open and ready to assist all persons aged 12 years and older.
“Furthermore, 11 public vaccination sites are operational over weekends from 08:00 to 15:00.”
