Man cut free from wreckage in Rooihuiskraal crash

“Once free he was transported rapidly by ambulance under the care of an Emergency Care Practitioner, to a nearby hospital for further definitive care.”

A 50-year-old man has been left with serious injuries following a collision on the N14 highway on Thursday.

According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen paramedics arrived on the scene in the vicinity of Rooihuiskraal, to find two light motor vehicles had collided at high impact, before both vehicles careered off the roadway.

“On further investigation the driver of one of the vehicles was found entrapped in the wreckage and advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise him, while rescue technicians cut him free using specialised hydraulic equipment.

“Once free he was transported rapidly by ambulance under the care of an emergency care practitioner, to a nearby hospital for further definitive care,” Van Reenen said.
