Emergency power shutdown planned for Rosslyn

The power supply shutdown was expected to last 24 hours – from 07:00 on Sunday, January 16 until 07:00 on Monday, January 17.

Businesses and residents in the Rosslyn industrial area, north of Pretoria, and surrounding areas would be without electricity due to a power supply shutdown at the Rosslyn substation on Sunday.

The power supply shutdown was expected to last 24 hours – from 07:00 on Sunday, January 16 until 07:00 on Monday, January 17.

“The shutdown is inevitable since the City’s technicians need to effect emergency repairs at the substation following acts of theft and vandalism,” Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said.

Areas and businesses which would be affected are:

–              Nkwe Estate

–              Rosslyn Gardens

–              ASEA local substation

–              Rautenbach local substation

–              Nissan

–              Datsun metal pressing

Those who would be affected by the power supply interruption were advised to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times.

“The City apologises for the inconvenience that may be caused to its customers,” Mashigo said.

All power failures could be reported to the metro by contacting their call centre on 012 358 9999 and choosing option 3.
