Newborn baby’s body found mutilated

A murder docket was opened for investigation.

A newborn baby’s mutilated body was found in a yard in the Soshanguve area, north of Pretoria, on Monday.

Police spokesperson Constable Nhlanhla Zondi said the newborn’s body was found with no hands and no legs in the Kheilaborokhu squatters, near block TT.

“It is alleged that the baby was found dumped into the yard of a 35-year-old male,” he said.

Zondi said the man told police that the baby’s body was discovered by his daughter.

“All relevant role players were called to the scene,” he said.

A murder docket was opened for investigation.

Zondi further said that a search was on for the newborn’s mother, adding that detectives would conduct further investigations into the grisly discovery.

Those with any information were urged to contact the Soshanguve police on 071 675 6286 or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
