Police arrested a man (26) and a woman (51) in Eersterust F4 in the north of Pretoria on Friday morning for possession of dagga worth R60 000 in street value.

Temba police spokesperson Sergeant Herman Moremi said they arrested the pair after receiving a tip-off about a house in the area where its occupants were alleged to be dealing in dagga.

“Upon arrival, they found a woman and a man who denied the allegations. Police, however, insisted on searching the house.

“They found dagga hidden underneath the floor packed in plastic bags.”

Moremi said the pair were arrested on the spot and detained in police cells.

“They will appear in the Moretele magistrate’s court soon facing charges of possession of drugs.”

He said the police will continue to work with other stakeholders, especially community patrollers because they know all the hotspots in the area.
