Maritimo struggle to move into the top eight
Maritimo head coach says it will serve as a consolation for his team to make it into the top eight.
Club Sport Maritimo face another difficult task of fighting to move into the top eight of the South African Football Association (Safa) Tshwane Regional League in Stream B.
“Failure to complete the regional league in the top eight will mean I wasted my time this season,” Maritimo head coach Selby “Sfuba” Sihlangu told Rekord.
Maritimo are one step away from the top eight.
According to the log standings by Friday, May 13, the Hatfield outfit was in the ninth place with 35 points in 26 games played.
Among eight teams ahead of them are Mamas All-Stars and Ma-Lions, who both have 37 points each in positions eight and seven respectively.
Maritimo’s initial objective was to finish the league in the top four and after failing to achieve their first objective, they decided to make it into the top eight.
“We need to finish the league in the top eight as it will serve as a consolation.”
In their upcoming games, Maritimo will play All-Stars at Maritimo sports ground on May 21 at 15:00.
