Sundowns show off silverware to local fans
The team made their final stop at Church Square in the CBD
Treble winners, Mamelodi Sundowns paraded their trophy haul today to celebrate with their Tshwane fans.
Mamelodi Sundowns have been crowned the Premier Soccer League champions for an incredible fifth time in five seasons after a 3-2 win against Royal AM on May 23.
The reigning champions survived an almighty scare after the majority of the players were booked out due to a flu outbreak at the camp.
The Brazilians mounted an amazing encounter at the Chatsworth stadium with goals from Gaston Sirino, Thabiso Kutumela and Peter Shalulile securing a win for the Tshwane giants, according to a statement on the Mamelodi Sundowns website.
The team visited schools, colleges, shopping malls and community halls in the great Pretoria including:
– Mamelodi East
– Mamelodi West
– Saulsville
– Atteridgeville
– Mabopane
– Soshanguve
– Hatfield
– Ga-Rankuwa
– Hammanskraal
– Winterveldt
– Silverton
– Lotus Gardens
– Eesterust
– Mmakau
– Pretoria CBD.
The final stop of celebration journey was Church Square in the Pretoria CBD with the Tshwane metro police in toe as their escort.
