Capital craft beer festival 2022

The Capital craft beer festival was once again set to unite beer and music lovers in the beautiful surroundings of the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens.

After an absence of two years, the Capital craft beer festival returned in 2022 for its 8th instalment as the Capital city’s finest event of its kind.

Thousands of people attended the event at the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens on Saturday.

Rachelle Crouse, who handled the publicity, said this year’s music line-up did not disappoint.

It featured everything from stalwarts to newcomers performing rock, blues, folk, pop, swing and everything in between in English and Afrikaans.

She said the Capital craft beer festival once again set out to unite beer and music lovers in the beautiful surroundings of the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens.

“The festival featured our country’s favourite craft brewers and a diverse selection of food. It catered for everyone’s taste in beers with a wide selection of some of the best brewers in South Africa, as well as the best local artists South Africa’s music scene has to offer,” said Crouse.

The music line-up for this year’s event featured young and old artists, including the likes of Karen Zoid, Akin, Bongesiwe Mabandla, Dan Patlansky, Georgetown & The Moonies, Bad Peter, Pedro Barbosa, The Man Motels, Maxx &Love, Michael Lesar, Carla Franco and Cantina Bras.

The brewers featured were Agar’s brewery, Binary Brew Worx, Brauhaaus Africa, Cape Brewing Company, Devils Peak beer, First 15 Brewhouse, Fokof Lager, Friars habits, Hazeldean Brewing company, Jack Blacks brewing company, Just brewing and more.

She added that for all the Mama and Papa Bears out there, the Clamber Club Kids Area at the festival offered awesome children’s entertainment so the whole family could join in the fun!

“Their fully trained, fun-filled, entertainers are fantastic with children and at keeping them happily entertained using bright and colorful equipment. They keep them moving while you, the parents, can enjoy yourselves,” she said.

There were various fun-filled games and activities throughout the day for children aged from 2 to 12.

Unfortunately, youths from 13 to 17 years of age were not allowed.

The festival started from 10:00 and ended at 18:00.
