TMPD seize drugs valued at over R20 000

Commonly referred to as nyaope, TMPD stated that the more than 700 bags collected had a street value of over R20 000

The Tshwane metro police (TMPD) has arrested two men in Soshanguve for the possession of and dealing in drugs.

Commonly referred to as nyaope, TMPD stated that the stash of more than 700 bags had a street value of more than R20 000.

The TMPD drug unit along with crime intelligence apprehended the pair on July 5, confiscating the large plastic bags of heroin as well as other illegal substances.

The names of the suspects are yet to be released, however, speaking to Record, spokesperson of the TMPD, Superintendent Isaac Mahamba confirmed that the pair have been charged with possession and distribution of drugs.

Mahamba further stated that the intelligence leading to the bust in block KK came from a tip-off from the area.
