R600m Rosslyn plant investment will create jobs, says Tshwane metro
YFPO is a joint venture between Plastic Omnium, a French automotive company, and Yanfeng, a Chinese automotive company. It will be supplying car manufacturer BMW’s plant in Rosslyn.
A R600-million YFPO plant investment in the Rosslyn industrial area is expected to bring job opportunities, skills development and knowledge transfer to the local community.
Economic development and spatial planning MMC André le Roux attended the official sod-turning ceremony to mark the start of construction of the 25 000 square metre YFPO plant.
“Tshwane welcomes this investment, which is estimated to be worth over R600-million. It is the first such investment by the company outside China.
“This plant will further solidify Rosslyn as a leading automotive investment destination, which feeds into our long-term vision of a R50-billion Tshwane Auto City.”

The industrial area is already home to various automotive plants, including BMW, Nissan, Iveco and Tata.
“I would like to let other automotive equipment and parts manufacturers know that the Tshwane metro is open for business.
“Our coalition government remains committed to creating a conducive business environment where the automotive industry can grow further,” said Le Roux.
