Two Mams learners receive uniform donation
"Both schools are our customers and these donations are our way of giving back to our loyal customers."
Ramahlale primary and Stanza Bopape secondary school learners in Mamelodi received a donation of school uniforms last Friday.
Lebogang Makata of AE Switch said her organisation benefitted the 267 most vulnerable learners at the schools.
She said 207 Ramahlale learners were gifted a full uniform, including shoes and the school 100 000 SMS credits to use as a communications tool to reach out to parents and learners
She said 60 Stanza Bopape learners received a school uniform including shoes each while the school received 100 000 SMS credits as well.
She said both schools further received a donation of furniture worth R10 000.
Makata said AE Switch sells bulk SMSes and the company “is giving back to the community by helping the learners”.
Ramahlale principal Modibedi Malefahlo said a lot of children at the school were from disadvantaged families that can’t afford uniforms and some were orphans.
“The uniforms will boost their confidence and they will look forward to coming to school every day now,” said Malefahlo.
“This will also improve their grades.”
