Two women aged 20 and 29 sustained critical injuries in a light motor vehicle and truck crash in the west of Pretoria on Friday.
The accident happened on the corner of Hendricks Street and Van Der Hoff road at about 21:45.
Ambu-Link Emergency Medical Services operations manager Ingo Muller said the two women were in a light motor vehicle with two other passengers when the crash happened.
He said the light motor vehicle ran into the stationary truck at traffic lights.
“The small motor vehicle allegedly could not brake in time and hit the back of the truck that was stationary at the red traffic lights on the corner of Hendricks Street and Van Der Hoff road,” he said.
The 29-year-old suffered multiple bone fractures and was transported to the Zuid Afrikaans hospital for medical care.
Muller added that the 20-year-old was also in a critical condition.
The two other occupants of the car were in a stable condition, he said.
