Station commander reach out to churches for help

Dube police station commander Portia Malatsi has encouraged pastors to make weekly visits to the station to pray for police officers as they face a lot of challenges in their line of work.

This was after the station received visitors from the Universal Church of Kingdom of God (UCKG) from Mabopane to pray for police officers in Hammanskraal.

Malatsi appreciated the visit from the church and encouraged them to visit weekly.

She believes that weekly visits will help maintain the spirit of ubuntu within the station.

UCKG pastor Peter Mahlodi said that law enforcers should be taken care of because they are at the forefront of the nation facing challenges to secure peace for their community.

In a statement, communication officer Tembi Nowathe revealed that the police officers did not only receive prayers but also participated in sports activities with the station commander to keep their bodies healthy, and active and relieve work stress.

“They agreed to play different activities such as soccer, netball, and aerobics on Wednesdays,” she said.
